本实验室研究人员在《Nature Methods》、《International Journal of Cancer》、《Cancer Letters》、《Cell Death & Disease》、《Biological Research》、《Frontiers in Immunology》、《Journal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine》等SCI收录的期刊发表科研论文40余篇。
Hainan Provincial Key Laboratory of Carcinogensis and Intervention is formally approved by the Hainan Provincial Department of Science and Technology in May, 2013. This laboratory takes focus on exploring the mechanisms of tumor occurrence and intervention strategies. The laboratory boasts a team of 8 full-time researchers, including 7 senior professionals with 6 holding doctoral degrees. It has successfully cultivated 2 doctors and 12 masters, and is currently supervising 15 doctors and masters. There are 12 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, 2 projects funded by the Hainan Provincial Innovation Team, and several provincial and ministerial scientific research projects undertaken by the team members of this laboratory. They have published more than 40 scientific research papers in SCI-indexed journals including Nature Methods, International Journal of Cancer, Cancer Letters, Cell Death & Disease, Biological Researc, Frontiers in Immunology and Journal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine. This laboratory won the rewards including the second prize of the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education, the third prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, and the first and second prize of the Hainan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. The research achievements of the laboratory have been reported by many media outlets, such as Science and Technology Daily and People's Daily Online.
The laboratory has been engaged in long-term research on the role of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and its receptor in the occurrence and development of liver cancer. It has been found that AFP not only serves as a diagnosis marker for liver cancer, but also has biological functions in inducing malignant proliferation, drug resistance, migration, invasion, and in inhibiting apoptosis in liver cells. The AFP receptor on the surface of liver cancer cells provides a target for precise elimination of the liver cancer cells.
